It Was A Wonderful Easter & Other News
Posted Apr 8th, 07:48 by Advancing The Kingdom on Evangelism/Missions
This week ATK Christ Church in Nawansega Parish had a wonderful Easter Sunday service. The church building was packed to capacity with many having to sit on the floor because all the benches were full. The head count was 402. That is so amazing considering the church is out in the villages and not in the densely populated city environment. It is also incredible that so many people have come to the God and Father of…

Friday night the ATK church in Buwabe hosted an overnight service. An overnight service is a time of prayer, rejoicing, and listening to speakers of the Word. It begins around 9:00pm and ends at 5:00am the following morning. We had a wonderful time.
However, on the way home from the overnight we encountered some problems.

There is a spiritual war on earth. The kingdom of darkness is fighting against the kingdom of light. It is real. This spiritual battle is the central focus of God and Satan. Interestingly, most people on this earth are either unaware of this battle or apathetic to it. To change this world for the better we need to partner with God in this war.
This week in the village we had a number of cases of demonized women. The…

New Years Eve 2010 Australian Perspective

New Year’s Eve 2010!
I have never celebrated the New Year, or rejoiced over the past year, as last night! In Uganda, and I think much of Africa, NY is a big deal. The religious groups have what they call “overnights”. These are practiced by some churches regularly. They are a night of prayer; people sacrifice sleep and make that time to seek God. New Year’s Eve is a mad party version of this!

This is the testimony of a 36 year old man from a tiny Ugandan village. His name is Paul. He was a special hire taxi driver having a route from Entebbe to Kampala. His life consisted of drunkeness and womanizing.
One day Paul was driving the taxi while intoxicated and drove off the road causing an accident. He then fled the scene by foot. The police were searching for Paul so he went back to his small village near Nawansega. From…

Last week I was with an ATK team on a follow-up visit to a sick woman. The local village witch-doctor stopped by when he saw us making the visit to the woman. He told us that he wanted our God to pray for him because he needed money.
He said he was hiding from his wives because if they saw him they would want money from him for food and such. We kind of chuckled at such a request from a…

Revival Power: Submit To God!

“Will anybody submit their life to the move of God?”
This is what my pastor used to say so many times and so many ways from the pulpit during the days of the heights of revival.
Will anybody make the adjustments necessary to protect the move of God? Will anybody do whatever is necessary to continue the move of God? Will anybody submit, one to another, in order that revival will continue? How careful will the people be to…

I want to share an “unusual” testimony of Julie Pash’s from a week ago:
In Nawansega village 3 poorly dressed, dirty children showed-up at the ATK church around 7 AM Sunday morning. One was a baby, maybe a year and a half old. Another, a girl, maybe 5 years old. And the third, a girl, around 10 years old. No one knew these children. They were with no adults. No one saw anyone drop them off. The location they traveled from…

There have been so many good things happening in Uganda. There were 318 people in this little remote village church on Sunday. The people are learning of the nearness of God and the love of God and the mission of Jesus that continues today. They are finding that God desires to always be near and to walk with us as He walked with Adam in the Garden.
First, I want to talk about one of the orphans who are…

The Easter Sunday service in the village of Nawansega was outstanding. A total of 323 persons were in attendance! Two young men made a public decision to receive Christ. A number of wonderful testimonies from villagers were heard. There was even a visitor all the way from Kampala who heard of the amazing things happening in Nawansega! Kampala to Nawansega is quite a distant journey. It is evident that the work that is happening in…

The testimonies continue especially in the Nawansega village, the Islamic village we have ministered in since July of 2007. Margaret, Moses and Fred have been so faithful in visiting the Islamic families one hour and more surrounding the church.

He spoke about the necessity to have good character, not just spiritual “power” gifts. Larry’s main point was from the book of James, “Where there is envy and strife, there is…
